The Guggach school campus and neighborhood park in Zurich present themselves as a precisely composed ensemble of architecture and landscape. The centerpiece of the showcase building is the foyer – an unheated transitional climate zone that opens via sliding gates to the adjacent schoolyard and neighborhood park. The park functions as a connecting link between the surrounding urban district and the nearby recreational area on Käferberg. The park highlights the topography and offers a wide range of uses, including a grass playing field, community gardens, and areas designed to reflect a natural environment. Large wooden furnishings provide striking visual accents and create spaces for social interaction.
